Hi All.

Been have some strange rubbing noises fron the front wheels for a couple of weeks not noticed it before some i dont know how long its been there.
Anyway I changed the wheel bearing on the front (what a job shocked )
as I also had a slight wheel wobble under gentle braking at high speeds.

Put the hubs back on and then took for a road test - same noise. I asked my missus if she heard when driving but she hadn't - so I jacked it up again and left it running ion gear for about 5 minutes and nothing - so again for 5 minutes with my foot just resting on the brake and hey presto the noise. Its coming from the brakes - as they get hot they start to bind and make this noise - when they cool down the noise goes!!

Anyone had a similar problem or any ideas as to why this happens - btw i also have DBA discs from the group buy.

Thanks

Suspect the pads are binding slightly in the calipers. Usually caused by corrosion under the pad guides lifting the guides up slightly and so binding on the pads. You can take off the calipers and clean them up or most just grind a little off the pads to free them up.

don't grind the pads as if you do when they start to wear they will rattle in the calipers, clean the corrosion from under the pad guides, can be a pig of a job to do largely due to the fact the screw holding the pad guides in will be corroded but its the only solution which will work properly

The guide screws are a nightmare. I found that if I bent up the guide I could rotate that with the screw. It was just enough help to break free the screw that wouldn't move any other way.
