Hi peps, just read a few of the links and think (think!) I can do better. I used www.confused.com to search 4 the best broker. I'm 25 (just) said it had a standard factory fit immob and alarm, sat on the driveway over night and I have 2 years no claims. They found 1 years insurance 3rd party fire and theft with Norwich Union Direct for £420!!!!! I opted for a 4 month installment which pushed it upto £480, but I still think this is a wicked quote. Let me know if other people get the same sort of quote with confused.com laters Tony

That's a good site. Best it came up with for me 37 Comp £350XS full NCB is Admiral £352.80 including cover for the wife (std spec no mods)
(it was more expensive with just me as only driver, even though wife has a speeding conviction and my licence is clean)
Think Noel Dazely quoted me £420 mods declared which is what I'm paying at Direct Line at the mo for std car.

I wish that I could get that sort of return on my money!

ahh you aint stealing my thunder, dont forget my ban lol. Try fully comp a massive diffrence between the two ,before my amazing quote i tried thames city who were £1300 fully comp then £800 third party ! i guess at about £600 for a fitted bonnet them coupes are pretty pricey to fix. might be worth spending the extra if you plan to have a big crash in the near future

Just a word of warning to you tonyd20vt, If i were you i would save up the money for fully comp. I know it's probably gonna cost you at least twice as much at the outset but it could really pay dividends if u were in a smash, god forbid.

I've found elephant the best, and the premium comes down, beating the other quotes, each year.
I've tried confused, DirectLine, Churchill, First Alternative, and Egg.
Admiral was closest this time, at about £60 more, with DirectLine and Egg also pretty close. Some quotes I've seen were for almost 3 times as much as I'm paying, though!
I'm now getting fully comp., protected no claims at a very reasonable price, and only about 20% more than for my old 1.6 Orion a couple of years ago!

The cheapest I found was Adrian Flux @ £550, but they wouldn't do track cover. However I mentioned it to Greenlight, who I use, and they got down to £557 [30, full NCB, clean license, std car & kept on driveway] and track days ar £50 per event upwards depending on the venue.
