As an antidote to all the moaning, last night i watched:

Sherlock on BBC1,
Bear Grylls and Jonathon Ross in Channel 4,
Hacks, also on channel 4

All cracking TV.

Well I didn't watch Hacks (don't know what it is actually) But Sherlock was brilliant. Best show on TV for a long time. And Bear Grylls and Jonathon Ross was more than entertaining. Not bad at all smile

I watched Sherlock and it was interesting to compare it with the second recent movie "adaptation". Although the film was a rollicking good yarn, which all the kids liked better, I thought the dialogue was sharper in the TV version and I much prefer Martin Freeman as Watson. I might be wrong, but I think there was a nice irony in both Watsons having just returned from military service in Afghanistan...
My only quibble with the TV show was that I found it a little over-complicated and confusing - almost gratuitously so. But then I had just driven for four hours in the pouring rain from Cambridge to Cirencester and rapidly restored my equilibrium with a substantial glass (or 2) of Merlot.

I enjoyed what I caught of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull last night laugh

Was about the only decent film I stumbled across on terrestrial TV over Christmas.

I dont live in Cirencester! My wife's grandma lives in a home there and we dropped her off there before spending the night in a B&B and driving home the following morning.

I must say, I wouldn't live there if I could avoid it!
