I'm looking for a new bike for a mix of road, trail etc

I'm a heft bloke (20st) and don't want a frame that has too much of a racy feel to it as I just end up with aching wrists..

Any suggestions for a well specced hard tail bike with a more upright riding position??

Stu

Any idea of budget? For value for money, you'd be hard-pressed to beat Boardman especially as there are means to get two lots of 10% discount. There are also a few sales on right now though you've probably missed the best deals hence the Boardman suggestion. .

I bought a 2nd hand 2009 Specialised Hardrock on eBay last year for just over £200. Very happy with it, although I am no bike connoisseur. Have upgraded several parts though so probably spent another £150 or so on it.

I will second the boardman comment. I currently have the Hard Tail Team and is awesome. Even the cheaper comp model is excellent value for money.
