As above, not for Coupe, but for car with separate front fog lights, one was smashed so replace it but 2nd hand spare came without bulb fitting. Other front fog light works OK so is this an MOT fail?

I think that if they are fitted they have to work. If so take them both off perhaps?

I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Just checked the MOT Tester's Manual (on-line via the link given on here recently, except you now have to pick up a zip file instead from here http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4_int.zip ) and it only talks about the single rear fog light that is needed, no mention anywhere about front fog lights, so I will chance it. Pretty sure it passed last year when broken, so hopefully still OK, cheers Pete!

You don't need front fogs for an MOT, but if they're present, they have to be working.

One of my fog lights was cracked on my old MR2 (and they were pretty expensive to replace) so I removed them for the MOT.

Just tape them over with Gaffer tape - that's enough.

No problem with only 1 working smile just the other problems that it failed on frown (drop link ball joint rubbers split after less than a year, worn suspension arm bush (despite another garage saying they were OK even though we could hear/feel a clunking noise) and a CV boot.

Apparently a rubber boot that is "excessively deteriorated so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt" is a new fail point from 1 Jan.
