It is, you get to a point when you think what have i started but as soon as you start putting it all back together it all makes sense.

Nope the oil pipes were a cheeky bargain off ebay about two weeks ago. They cost me £100 inc delivery (won an auction). I will get a new oil cooler from wannapart which will be around £80 so all in all not a bad price smile

Really enjoying your posts Mario smile

What did you spray the heat shield with? Paint won't last, powdercoating turns yellow.. the best looking and most durable method i've found is to chrome it. Do it in brushed chrome so it doesn't look too bling!

Nah I love proper speed red and once its freshly sprayed it will look lush smile

Kelv! That looks quality, I ended up using some VHT paint, I didnt think it would last to be honest where and how much did it cost to get yours done in brushed chrome? I need to remove it again and tighten up my manifold bolts!

Cheers thumb

VHT will look ok for awhile but gets dirty and scrapes way too easily.

My chroming was done by RS Chroming. Its not cheap..around 60 quid but i think its worth every penny. Don't think you should cut corners with your LE refurbishment and just get it done! laugh

Will it fit over the RS? You may have to get a custom shield made no?

Nice work Mario, i havent checked up on your thread for a while, bit of a shock to see you are now going for a full respray!

But, it will look so much better, the paint fade thing is a PITA to be honest.

i had this exact problem when i got my Broomer colour coded, the guy has done an amazing job really at getting a 'close as' match, and unless you look too close you cant see the difference... i can though frown

Looking forward to seeing your coupe at Spa though matey.

The front Billies look great. If money was no object I'd have a set tommorow. I always remember them on the BMW 328i Sport when I worked on BMWs.

Lovely to see a good restoration.
