driving My first track day was great! My 16vt performed very well. After sighting laps I was let loose and unleashed her power and gained more experience after the 3sessions. Good points my coupe seemed quicker out of corners then every car there with exception of m3 and caterham. Bad points standard suspension let me down slowing me down in corners, standard brakes after 5 laps did nt feel great. My Standard exhaust and turbo need up rating also to keep those evos behind me after 110mph(hopefully)Lol. Learnt a lot and coupe performed great I just want it quicker now for the next event. Points of serious concern clutch acting very strangely under quick changes , no slipping at all , clutch pedal would seem to get stuck solid halfway down often while using brakes at same time? And sometimes just not being able to engage gears. Had to end my first session 2laps early. chinny I topped up brake clutch fluid slightly second session was great but problem came back when quick changes needed after a few laps held me back alot very dissapointed but managed to keep it under control til third session. No probs on way home or normal driving.
Any help with clutch would be great. ??
I ll upload pics and vids later.

Glad to hear you had fun and can't wait to see thr vid. Could it be that you had problems with your clutch due to cooked brake fluid?

BTW, you are cloud9 mental racing with standard brakes and bloody lucky they didn't give up! tongue Get some MTEC discs, Bluestuff pads and some decent brake fluid like right now wink

I thought I d get away with discs and pads as there virtually new , I didi nt brake hard unless I thought I was heading for the grass and braked / slowed very early for corners being a novice an all.
That was my first thought about clutch fluid boiling as it only comes apparent after 5+ laps I must change for highest boiling point or racing fluid .
Does you or any think my clutch problem is an internal mechanical one? It is so annoying losing vital seconds with no gears and anyone behind must be wondering. Must be sorted. Will check out blue pads there not the most ecspensive out the colours are they?lol

Blues fore 16vts are cheap around £75 and they perform plus they bite from cold! I am not afraid of using brakes and they never faded on me but I managed to cook ATE BlueStuff at Bedford so get some more expensive fluid.
Not sure about the clutch as I didn't have the problem you have but boiled fluid springs to my mind...

ive seen some vids from that track day and did wonder if you were a member. my mate was in the evo with black wheels, you shouldn't worry about keeping up with him as he has 320+ bhp

i will see if i can grab the vids off him

After that taster i ev got the bug bad need more power! bigger turbo ,exhaust ,injecters and map are on my most wanted list! Lol with a bit of luck I ll have the turbo for the next day at snetterton lol. Clutch is a real concern but I ll have to see how it goes with high quality racing fluid, I personally think its something else but I m no expert. Got some good photos but not had time to upload any

Good to see a coupe on track again.

Nice looking coupe and some good vids mike.

as for brake fluid go for Castrol SRF its very good and alot of use harder drivers use it.

as for brake disc and pads id go for some ebc grooved jobs and some carbon tech pads because they were spot on at brands with some very late braking.

as for upping the power give some of the traders a shout for options.
