That's why you have such a GAY torque figure for your spec!! It's not like I'm gonna be holding 1.9 to redline so I'll take a chance I think.... If it goes BOOM then I'll have to rebuild again..... Flea can pencil me in for mapping in 2020!

"The standard TB0385 fitted to the Lancia Evo 1 has a 7 blade compressor 69mm/48.77 mm which is a 50 trim Nick's turbo has a 7 blade 69mm/52.2mm 60 trim. The TB04 S trim is an 8 blade compressor 70mm/48.35mm 48 trim, so the map you have is not correct for the turbo Nick has. I can't find a compressor map that suits Nick's compressor wheel, but I originaly asked Turbo Technics for a turbo capable of 400BHP and that is what they put together for me. Mountune confirmed to me that they were able to get 400HP from the same turbo on the Escort Cosworth Group A rally car engines."
The garret 60-1 wheel is 7 blade 70mm... Can be used in machined T04b housing

The garret 60-1 wheel is 7 blade 70mm... Can be used in machined T04b housing Are you sure? I think the 60-1 is a 76mm diameter wheel for the T04E housing. Biggest flowing wheels that I know of for the T04B are the 8 blade V trim - Garrett part number 409179-0025 - and the 6 bladed H trim - Garrett part number 409826-0015. I believe the Turbo Technics T34/T35 uses a 410299-0004 - anyway, it flows > 42lbs/min Turbo Technics use one of the larger-flowing T04B wheels in what they call a T38.

There are no 7 bladed T04B compressor wheels. You have a 7 bladed compressor wheel, approx 69mm diameter so it is an uprated T34/T35 but it can't be a T38 I don't think.

Where does it say it's a 7 blade? And no, a 60-1 is a different wheel (and map of course!). There are NO Garrett 7 bladed TB04 compressor wheels. Check here. Try this for wheel diameters.

Hmmm i might be wrong, im sure ive seen a 7 blade htrim or h3 trim, but cant find it now... I might be wrong too! I wish Garrett would publish a decent history including definitive part number and description information themselves.... but I doubt that will happen, so it is a question of putting all the available published data together.

BHP 371 Same torque figure as before, flea reckons we've reached the max the turbo will give, as on the dyno it is peaking at 1.75 bar I think, then quite quickly tails of to 1.2 at redline, not just a spike now tho! Flea said it actually holds the boost a lot better on the road compared to dyno, When my car was mapped the first time all those years ago, it was mapped to 1.45/1.5 bar on the road but would only peak at 1.2 bar on the dyno??? Flea said this happens sometimes!! Dyno doesn't like the little old 16vt!! Surprised the torque hasn't increased with little extra boost but hey ho, still a great result considering turbo guy said it would max out at 350!! MASSIVE Thank you Flea for your perciverance, think we got there in the end!! Now post the graph (s) ASAP!

Considering my prediction, I am 9 BHP disappointed. More than that though, I managed 340 ft/lb on a head-modified EIGHT VALVE Integrale engine with the same turbo @ 1.7 bar, so the 16 valve should produce more with 1.75 bar. Whatever - it will be great fun to drive!

Surprised the torque hasn't increased with little extra boost but hey ho, still a great result considering turbo guy said it would max out at 350!! On a v8 twin turbo i worked on, the airflow from the blowers was restricted by the headers. with higher boost there was no increase in torque, but it moved lower in the rev range... and that is where you want it. dont worry about the pub talk of large numbers, its wrong, just wrong. want a fast car? get loads of twisty stuff low in the rev range. by the time a 'pub talk' engine is working the other will have been through a gear change and bearing down on the next. 'area under the curve', that is what its about anyhoo, i bet its a hoot to drive - enjoy it and dont chase the numbers

Graphs!!! There you go peeps..... Finally! Couple of things I've noticed on the graphs is The dyno would only alloy 1.58 bar max where as it will actually be somewhere between 1.78-1.86 on the road.... Also.... Looks like its spooling quite slow on boost graph (1 bar @ 4200) But Leighton tells me there's actually 1 bar @ 3200 revs on road..... Dyno doesn't seem to like my car.... It did the same 1st time it was mapped!! All that's left todo if go collect her and go for a razzzzz!! Nick
