Well I WAS glad.... till I saw your results... Lol! Yes I'm chuffed with results, I'd say pretty much maxed the turbo, which I thought may happen as I maxed the super 60 with a very poorly engine! Thing I'm most impressed with is the power increases all the way to redline now whereas old set died after 5800 revs, obviously the .63 housing has helped, but thought the stage 1 turbine would still run out of puff before 6400 revs??!! KJ What was your max torque on your old turbo set up, was that turbo still only stage 1 also?? going enjoy the car for a while now, before I consider my "next move" I'd be up for a 16vt head to head on the strip.... I don't mind losing!! Regarding ramp rate, I have no idea? Flea may be able to shed some light on this?! Congrats on your awesome results Kj...... You kept that quiet! Long live the little old 16vt!! P.s. I think MarKo was the closest guess!!! Nick

Well I am finally collecting car on thursday..... I know it was dyno'd a while ago but when flea took it back onto the road to fine tune the map we discovered there was a problem at high rpm with fuel pressure, it's seems that I purchased a Chinese copy of a walbro many moons ago so this has now been changed and boost is now peaking @1.75 bar ..... Holding 1.45 bar at red line.... Where as when it was dyno'd peak was 1.55 bar and holding just 1.3 at redline... Flea says its "blindingly" quick on the road and it behaves very different to how the dyno graphs showed. Let's hope it's a nice "dry" day thurs so I can put her through her paces!!! Nick

With another 0.15 bar at peak power I think I was on the money!

We'll see how close you were next time on the dyno.... Would be good to see what it's running at the higher boost.....???? Will prob go back to a local dyno, http://www.hlmtuning.co.uk/rolling_road.htmlCar always seems to run same boost as on road when ever its dyno'd there, it will also be good to compare graphs from previous runs many moons ago!! Could possibly set up a dyno day if enough peeps were interested?? I've spoke to the guy who runs the place before about it and he seemed pretty keen, would prob need between 8-12 cars!! Nick

Got car on the dyno jet local to me yesterday, hoping to find out what car is producing at max boost (1.75 bar) as fleas dyno wouldn't allow full boost to build..... Result, this dyno was WORSE!!.... Produced peak boost of around 1.5 bar! Bugger! Interesting results and graph though ..... Dyno jet measures power and torque at Wheels so.... 312 Wbhp (5300-6600 revs) 345 W ftlb (467 nm) @ 4000 revs http://www.fcperformance.co.uk/images/nickd/373bhp-dynojet.jpgtaking transmission losses (12%-17%) into account figures will be around 355-375 bhp & 380-404 ft lb of torque..... Can't see gearbox lasting long!! The graph is a much better representation of how car is on the road.... I could also while I was there compare these results to my old set up 3 yrs ago when running t3 super 60..... At 5000 revs Whp is up from 255 to 300, but more impressive is At 4000 revs W ft lb is up from 270 to 345! New set up reaches old performance by 3700 on the graphs so this means there is barely any difference in the spool of new considerably larger turbo!! Well done Flea!!! Happy days.......... Over the moon with car!! Nick

Hi. Nick. Careful with adding percentages! Driveline loss isn't a percetage. Say for example your car made 200 wbhp, then you added a 200 shot of N2O to make 400 wbhp. If you assume a 17% loss, the flywheel numbers would be 234 bhp and 468 bhp respectively. So without changing anything on the engine or gearbox you've suddenly gone from 34 bhp loss to 68 bhp loss. Not possible! If you want a reasonable number for comparison, my own Coupe has shown around 43-45 bhp loss on different makes of dyno over the years - except for SRR's Dyno Dynamics which said 34. I'm pretty sure CFM's Dyno Star showed 358 or 360 ATW - It slipped my mind to make a note, doh! You need to go back to the same dyno so that you get a reading with the same flywheel loss figure, rather than add a percentage. In the meantime be happy with the most important thing: that your car was fast and now it's even faster

Car is definitely running around 370bhp..... When at Full boost on the road, it's just a shame I can't find a dyno to load ALL my boost! The thing I'm most impressed with though is all that torque at just 4000 revs.... 345 ft lb of torque at the Wheels cannot be disputed and is a monstrous amount so early in the rev range, especially considering turbo exhaust side is near bog standard! Be good to do a dyno day in the new year..... Me, you and Beggars.... Be a good comparison as your prob running 30 bhp more than me, and Begbie is running prob about the same amount more than you??!! Deme can come along to if he wants!! Nick

Mine does the same; peaks at 1.7 bar and tails to 1.5 on the road, but stays at 1.5 bar on the dyno. Nah boring! I think it would be much more interesting (and fun) to compare the different setups on the 1/4 mile or the road (er, legally and below the speed limit of course ) sometime. BTW, I lost track of the spec of your mystery turbo months ago! What hot-side a/r and wheel has it got now ?

My turbo is delta evo 1 cold side (with uprated compressor wheel), Hot side is just the standard stage 1, just with bigger .63 exhaust housing... I'd rather do the Shakespeare raceway than santa pod... Would definitely be up for some sort of straight line track orientated thrash though!!
