I am wanting to scratch a big V8 itch and have been looking at the 4.2 XKR when I spotted this.
Schumacher in a Fiat coupe and Webber in a Jag coupe...

I'm just not sure about the dash - it's very, well, Jag! Bit old looking and the stereo side of things are also a bit poo.
On the other hand the rest is awesome!

I've spent on average £300 a month on the coupe this year (Jan - Sept) and there is still lots I'd like to do and £300 quid a month would buy alot of Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag!

Yes, the dashes in Jags are very weird; a bit like seeing someone cool and sexy wearing beige nylon.
But I do like the "R" Jags...

Good find!

So do I - alot! My dad has the V12 XJS and the dash on that, in my opinion, is much easier on the eye. Still the outside is sweet!

There was a gorgeous S-Type R on Autotrader a few months back. Oddly, and despite the fact that it was converted to LPG, MrsC made some very hurtful comments about "fantasyland" when I showed her the pictures and soon afterwards we bought our gold Kia Sedona diesel.

I sort of replaced my Coupe with an XK8 (I haven't actually got rid of the Coupe!) and do love the Jag, it is different to the Fiat in so many ways, much more of a GT but even without the R it has the ability to move at a very decent pace. On long journeys it is very relaxing and overall not very different to the Coupe on fuel consumption - an R may be different though!

I also thought about an XKR. What put me off was the no-manual option, the barge appearance* (though easily sorted with a nice skirt kit.. there was one fitted as standard to a special edition model whose name escapes me, but it really did make it look so much more modern), and finally the interior (mainly the dash) was just a bit too old person for my liking.

Oh and forget the back seats unless your kids are very small!

*albeit still a very nice looking barge! Didn't mean it to sound quite that negative.. nice looking cars

I have 3 kids so the car is technically my toy as you can't run 5 round in a Fiat coupe either!

I like the ones with skirts and 20 inch rims, I can live with the dash and lack of manual changes for the pleasure of whafting about.

MPG is quoted as 15 - 29 depending on circumstances.

I'd have the S Type R but they do look a bit like old man pj's!

Probably why I'm finding them an increasingly appealing proposition...!
