Hi to all

Just joined having bought a Coupe today from the dreaded Bay.

Interested if anyone knows the car: R887 VBY - Green 20VT. I took a punt on eBay as I was looking for a 20VT engine and parts to put in an Alfa 155, but other than a cracked manifold, the car appears excellent, so still deciding what to do with it.

A bit about myself - life long interest in Italian cars. My first was a 33 P4, then a skinny Alfa 155 V6. This was followed by a new Yellow 20V NA Coupe on an N plate, which I kept for 5 years or so. One of the best cars I ever owned. Have been through a few, but currently have several 155s, including a 24v V6 project, and Simoni's 1993 BTCC 155 Q4 press car, several 33s, and a 75 Cloverleaf.

As mentioned, had intended to do a 20VT conversion on a 155, but this car, at least on first inspection, looks to good to strip. Looking for a decent manifold for it now, and will be doing some work on it in the next few weeks.

Welcome Wombat.
Hopefully you can keep your 155 and 20VT separate on this occasion! nono

Welcome to the forum wombat.

So that's where all the 155's have gone....you've got them all laugh

I love 155's, used to be taken to school in one everyday. It was a dark blue wide body, it looked mean as anything, and even though it was just the 2.0l version, for an old 5 door, the performance it put out was awesome! Lot's of fond memories of that car, sadly it was scrapped back in 2005, after being almost totally submerged during the Carlisle flood frown

We now have a lovley 145 cloverleaf living amongst our little fiat family smile

I'm Sure you'll find all the info you need on this great forum.

Hi Wombat and welcome from "Downunder".

With a "handle" like that, one might think that you also come from this great southern land!

Hi Wombat. Also had a 75 and a 155 in the past. The 155 really did me proud. Was a skinny 2.0l 8v. Awesome and most reliable car I ever had. Sold it with 167,000 miles on the clock. The buyer couldn't believe how well it still pulled and drove. Must admit, I really abused the mechanicals on that car. Just kept up regular oil changes and never had a problem with it. Don't know where it is now, that's if it is still around L62 ULU.
Anyhow, now I have the coupe and very happy with it smile

Chrs for the welcomes.

Not from down under unfortunately, but do fancy some time visiting there.

Decided to use the Coupe for work for a few days. What a laugh. Whilst I do own another turbo car, the Coupe is much lighter and nimbler than the Q4 for most situations. Absolutely loved it. Best overtaking car I have driven in a while.

Unfortunately, the lower turbo coolant hose has developed a leak. It has had a new turbo recently, and the hose has rubbed through against a rad fan bolt. Luckily has not lost much coolant, and seems an easy fix, but off the road until week after next when I have a chance to sort the pipe from underneath.

Definitely a manifold issue so will get that sorted at the same time.

Loving this car already!!
