Just a quick straw poll for those interested in getting together for a Sunday lunch towards the Christmas end of the year. It will be close to the M25 for easy access and have a reasonable car park. I thought we'd try an alternative to the Grasshopper, but still friendly and good food.

If a venue hasn't been decided yet, this place always looks quite good for a meet, very easy from the M4 and M40. A little less south than the grass hopper but nice and close for me! laugh

Nah, Chef and Brewer reheat meals from frozen, not food prepared and cooked on the premises.

Not eaten in one of their places since they gave 3 out of 4 of us eating in their Aldershot place food poisoning. They won't get another chance at finishing me off thanks.

This is great that there is real enthusiasm for this smile
I propose The Rose & Crown, Dunton the reviews are favourable, there is a good sized car park and it is easy to get to for most wink there has been no favouritism in location, it just looked fairly central. There is even a 20% discount available on the food per table laugh
The menu seems good and varied.
The date I would like to book the venue for, is Sunday lunch 1st December. I hope this is OK with all? but I have to put a pin in the calendar somewhere.
I hope it will get all you "Bah, humbugs" in a festive mood for the month ahead wink
Please can you mark you attendance with a "confirmed" if you can make this date, thank you.

The Shire Horse car park is the venue for the (in)famous photo shoot of the matt green, black boot, 5 seater 'LE' Coupe for sale and discussed on another thread. Maybe the owner will show up, or maybe it is still there?

I know I am a noob to the forum, but this pub is very nice and the owner is very friendly (2012 landlord of the year) and a petrolhead (as you can see from the website).

http://www.theblackwoodarms.net/
http://lgn1317278951.site-fusion.co.uk/classic-car-club

He would love to have a load of Coupes in his car park. But we would have to book well in advance as seating indoors is limited - we'd probably own the place for the evening.

Wherever the venue, count me in please.

Alan

Looks like Ross was posting a decision for venue & date whilst I was typing my post. I didn't intend to suggest something after he had!

Presumably it won't be a strict Coupe meeting as I will probably have SORNed the old thing by then?! As may several others on the list?
At least I can assure you it will be Italian!

Ross,
Shall I contact MrT for a reunion?

Hi Chris,
By all means contact MrT, more the merrier smile anybody heard from Tim of late?
I too will be in an "alternative" vehicle (not Italian, family car), but it does have a very clever British designed engine to be proud of and what with the whole tribe to transport in comfort the LE has now been tucked up cosy in it's shrine.

Please can names be confirmed over this weekend, as I'm on holiday after Monday and I'd like to book a provisional number of seats before I go away for a week. Just copy and paste the list into a new post and add "confirmed" after you name (make sure you put numbers of your party down too wink ) and I will then know how many to book the restaurant table for. If names are added and not confirmed I cannot guarantee you a seat at THE table/s
Thanks for the positive feedback regarding this event smile
