It became clear from last weeks meet that people would welcome a weekend meet along with a bit of a drive...

So what I propose is the first "Hundred Parishes" Coupé club Treasure hunt & drive...

The start would be near Haverhill in Suffolk, at around 10am, a spot of breakfast and then take a route through the North Essex and South Cambridgeshire villages, ending up at Herbies in Melboune for Lunch. The route should be about 45 miles and perhaps take a couple of hours to complete (Depending on how long it takes to find the clues) smile

Yes, there will be some cryptic clues (Just For Fun) and some perhaps interesting information on the Villages and towns en route.

So anyone interested, any preference on a Saturday or Sunday?

Bob

But... I might have to do it in the Bravo: the coupe's close to its mileage limit and is going into storage for the winter at the end of October. Also it has a misfire I still haven't resolved...

OK, we spent a few hours driving around Essex yesterday and now have a route and some questions... not too many.

The Route involves a few stops, to find answers, and takes in some quaint Villages, ancient churches, even a nature reserve. There are some tiny roads and we even give participants the opportunity to have a blast under a couple of bridges, sorry we couldn't find any tunnels though frown

So to find a day...

We can't really do the last Sunday of the month as the finishing point has the Mustang club booked in.

I guess this Saturday would be too soon / short notice?

October - The 04th & 05th is good for me but Dave is out frown The only other possible for me would be Sunday the 12th.

November - First three weekends I would be free.

Thoughts please folks..

Cool except for the 18th as mentioned above. November I'll be on my own... but in the Bravo.

Hi All,

A weekend is brilliant, the best one for me is the 3rd weekend in November 15/16th?

But if it is another day i will certainly try and wriggle out of anything i am supposed to be doing, in favour of something that i want to do!

Thank you,
Dan

OK, as we are swiftly approaching dark nights and chilly weather shall we postpone the treasure hunt idea until next spring? We've got the idea, done some of the legwork but a postponement should enable us to ensure it would be hitch free and be a bit more cryptic with clues.

To be honest any weekend date in October that isn't the 04th & 05th would be problematic, I'm working most of them!

With regard the Venue in Melbourne. Would there be any interest in starting a regular Italian car meet there, say first Sunday of every month?

The fellow seems keen and already has an American car club event last Sunday of every month. I could put one together and see if people attend?

Apologies, didn't make the first meet due to work, but I like the idea of a regular Italian car meet up. Coupe is just about to be painted then off the road for the winter, but I'll have the 155 V6 out until roads start to be gritted.

Otherwise, a very 'italian' Freelander!!!

Hi, regular Italian meet at Herbies sounds good to me! Sorry I didn't see the treasure hunt posts earlier - I would have been keen for Oct/ Nov, but, yeah, dark nights, poor lights, salty roads... better in the daylight I'm a thinkin'!

First Sunday of the month sounds fine as well for the regular meet. Count me in!
