Okay, so I'm going to replace some of the hoses on my engine when it's getting rebuilt like the water pipe at the back, but I thought, why not upgrade to silicone?
Found a few different silicone hose set on ebay, do any of these look worth it?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130963973295
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321071726110
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321071730596
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321071731910

Does anyone have any silicone hose kits fitted?
If so, any problems with them?
Any better kits available out there from other suppliers?
Which hoses other than the one at the back, should I really be looking at changing?

Yes, I do want them in black, I want them to look standard but be shinier.

yes i have silicone hoses fitted, came on car when i bought her.... no problems so far with mine.

suggest you ensure you get decent jubilee clips when you do them for the sake of an extra few pence...

there is a company called ASH silicone hoses that may be of interest.

I got mine from JBT. Good quality pipes and clips. Same price as the Venair 6 piece kit but you get the full 13 pipes!

Is hi-grip the manufacturer? or is it jsut the design?
Can I have a pic as an example? And where can I get them from?

On thos kits it is missing the turbo water feed hose. Trust me this does go aswell.

Mine let go quite dramatically outside JBT's with the engine off.

I would go for a full kit from Countrycruising or JBT. Both can supply i believe.

There was a group buy a while ago from viper performance, I have one of their coolant hose kits and it's very good quality.

Got the kit from JBT, i'm very impressed with it, it's jsut what I wanted.

I really wanted to upgrade the pipes but I wanted to try and keep it looking as standard as possible, there's nothing wrong blue hoses and bright anodizing... but... for me it looks 'cheap' reminds me of the stuff I used to get from halfords.

I just want it to look new and clean and black silicone hoses are idea for keeping that look, also, they're unbranded which helps reduce the tackyness of them.

It will be a few weeks until they're fitted but once they are I will have pics.

Did you never see those kits that halfords did? might have been daemon thieves but they were silicone hose kits that had anodized covers that went over the jubilee clips at the ends, so you couldn't seem the cheap clips rusting.

YES... I see... believe it or not, quite a few of my clips are already those, they do hold really well and don't corrode easily. Never bought them myself, always had them left over from other projects I've done for my best friend Dan, he normally jsut buys a load of parts then turns up and asks me to fit them.

Once he had a 2.4 variable valved timed engine delivered to my house. turned up the next day asking me to fit it o.O'

They are chinese, but maybe they are ok.
My car is 100% stock at the moment.

I have no money to spent, Christmas is coming laugh
If this kit is not so ok, I will wait and take a Viper Performarce.

Wait and buy the Viper set Gimmo, you won't be disappointed as I've found most cheap kits from Ebay to be pants.

Mine are 13 piece kits.I also no longer sell the 5+ seperate pipes to accommodate the missing pipes from other kits.

No brainer really, buy half a kit off other suppliers or buy a full kit for less money off myself or my eBay shop.
Full kit,lifetime warranty.

My supplier spent 8 years working for samco (hint hint) so knows his stuff.

As for clips, you want a large pressure to a small surface area, wide clips leak eventually.
Silicone is a much denser material over standard hoses so must be clamped down properly .

Have you considered metal air hoses as under intense air flow these won't collapse from the vacuumed effect on them...
