Since my dad gave me his old coupe I've had a problem. I find it v difficult to fight the temptation to boot it smile
I've got a Citroen c15 work van and a vw T2 camper, neither of which could easily beat the national speed limit. Therein lies the problem! As I'm used to driving foot flat down in my other vehicles, to no apparent increase of velocity, I can't quite keep myself from flooring the coupe, to mucho increase in speed. Last month I had to go to London, from Sheffield, and I drove the Citroen as I was scared of taking the coupe incase I had lost my licence by Watford gap services!!

Does anyone else have this quandary?

Ps I beat google sat nav 2 hour 20 predicted journey time by 20 mins visiting Oxfordshire the other week smile

Take care, MC. The speed is addictive!

My journeys start off calmly - the car is a nice place to be in, looks lovely inside and in the mirrors too.

Then you give it the beans and the engine just begs to be revved, a change up encourages you to do it all again.

A missus who goes silent, grips the seat and closes her eyes at times is a good way of reigning you in, a 7 year old who shouts "powerrrrrr" when you boot it is not!

Enjoy (but in moderation) wink

I know what you mean - 10k miles and 10 months later I've only just started to ease off. A bit.

If you drive it hard all the time you'll eventually start to think your coupe isn't that quick after all. To be honest, a decent rep mobile high output diesel can catch you out sometimes - but only for a moment!

Once your coupe doesn't feel as quick anymore I recommend you borrow my wife's Golf 1.6 FSI or my mother's Citroen C1. After driving either of those for a couple of days the coupe will feel like a Veyron.

In fact, I'm having to spend 2 weeks holiday in Devon in the Golf right now as my coupe needs a replacement drive shaft. God I miss the coupe...
