Well, attending an auction today, with the intention to buy some pallets of hardwood T&G planking ended up with me underbidding on all the lots and getting nothing that I went for.

However I accidently got a Stilo Abarth instead - I must have scratched my nose as a bid sign! (see this link Halfway down the page - and here )

Should I treat it as a consolation prize or did I do wrong ?!?!?! rolleyes

Hahahaha, depends on mileage and if it's the manual or Sillyspeed model.

Nope, manuals are more rarer and preferred. If you got it at decent money enjoy!

It certainly looks good from the photo and I assume it is working? Those gearboxes seem to not be the most reliable though frown

A good friend of mine had the selespeed model, the gearbox was a little bit slow and about as smooth as braille but it kept up with my standard 20vT so it is pretty quick and it did sound nice when you planted your foot. Enjoy

Officially, (when new) 0-62 mph 8.5 sec and top speed 136 mph, so very similar to a 20V VIS but maybe with a bit better low down torque.

Haha Yes you're right, it did have a few issues with boost, I was trying to make JonH feel better wink

Is there any history on a clutch change?

Yes very similar to the VIS, the manual version is way better as you are able to use that torque and it's even better when coupled to a 20vt gearbox.

It was only 460 money coins so not too concerned if it ends up being a pup crazy , and not bothered about matching speed/acceleration with my Coupes - everything gets to '70' fast enough (maybe i'm showing my age tongue )

Its done 82 miles between the current MOT and last year so it might not bode well as being issue free !, or it could be faultless and low miles because it was driven by a 86 year old grandmother driving to the village shop once a week. A bit dusty inside but will clean up fine.

Not much history, other than serviced at correct intervals, and new timing belt last year.

I'll get it home in the next few days, & If I like it too much then the 'Plus' will probably be going, or being mothballed again shocked

If you do decide to keep it and are unable to find any history on the clutch, get it changed. If it fails they have a tendency to fail in gear which results in not being able to select neutral crazy

For what you've paid I think that's a fair price for that vehicle.
