Morning everyone. I was not sure if I should say anything about this, but on 7th January my husband died after an 18 month battle with cancer. I was at his bedside when he passed, at the hospice. It was profoundly moving, and my heart is in pieces, but I am glad that his suffering is over, as he was very poorly towards the end. Our son Callum took a year out from University to help out, and he has been an enormous source of comfort and love. I know none of you knew Iain, but he loved to drive my Coupe because it was so unusual and "kept them guessing" because he was such a hippy in appearance but then he'd be driving this flash looking motor! He was my soul mate and I don't know how I will live without him. His dog is also grieving, poor Snoop looks lost and lonely. Like me!

Annie - I'm really sorry to hear this - it must be incredibly tough for you and your family. Clearly, we're no strangers to cancer and understand how brutal it can be so you have my heartfelt sympathy. Please reach out for help if there's anything we can do to ease the burden. In the meantime all I can do is offer my sincere condolences

Richard

Hi Annie, so sorry to hear your news. It's wonderful at the same time that you are able to recall all those precious shared memories that might never have been, also that your son has been right at the coal face alongside you, this is very special.

I admire your courage in posting on here about such a personal matter, which has on occasion been the recourse for a few other members also. It's also humbling and reassuring that you consider this forum to be an appropriate place to share your loss, and I believe your husband will pass on strength to you.

Please accept my sympathy from afar,

Simon

My sincere condolences Annie. The last 18 months must have been really tough for you and family, and since the 7th, the sense of loss must be painful. I hope the time you and your son spent with him will give you some comfort.

Best wishes.

I am so very sorry for your loss, cancer has also struck at our family in the last couple of years, on more than one occasion, and whilst this may at best be simply the thoughts of a passing online stranger, my very best wishes and thoughts are for you and your son.

Sorry to hear of the loss you have all suffered. Although the pain lessens it never totally goes.

Annie, so sorry to hear your news. Life seems to deal some awful cards at times and never more so than in losing a loved one. Glad your son is able to be close by so you can support each other.

There are no words for times like this, only the sincerest and deepest of sorrow. I do hope you can take comfort from close family and friends. Take care.

Deepest condolences Annie. It's the second anniversary of my Dad's passing today. Going to go to his grave later for reflection and to remember the great times we had.
