So, in the 45 minutes since I posted a for sale ad for my 2001 Skoda Fabia, I've had 4 scam phone calls from people saying I've been involved in an accident and have compensation waiting, and two very odd guys with thick accents saying the will come right away with cash for car. Give address! And then called me back trying to offer me pittance for the car. But "I come right away"!

So I've just decided to let all further calls go to voicemail, haven't got the energy to deal with this stupidity.

I may just end up driving the car to the airport and leaving it in the carpark with the key in the ignition when I leave for Australia in a couple of weeks.

End rant.

A sign of the times I'm afraid. Modern day technology works for all the dickheads as well....

Ive only ever once put a car on gumtree. Never again. Messages and phone calls galore, mostly foreign that barely had enough English words to communicate, but not one person ever actualy turned up to view. One person just sent the same message every single day that simply just said "£200" and nothing else.

Autotrader are offering free adverts for cars valued at less than £1k, it's worth a try.

Well, as it turns out I managed to sell it to a friendly chap on Friday who needed a cheap reliable car to drive him and his family back to Slovakia. Sold it for £400, so feeling quite pleased.
