^^ this.

Shame about the rapid demise of Glynwood, formerly Neil Willies when Sarah used to look after us all so well.

Same thing here. They called me the day before my cover ended and then told me they couldn't offer me the same policy.

It then took THREE WEEKS to get them to confirm my 15 Years NCD grr

So I too am back with Flux. Limited mileage, agreed value, right to buy back salvage and all mods accepted. Just under £300.

Not renewal time yet,

But pretty sure I will make the jump if Flux or someone similar offers me that level of cost.

Academy (Glynwood) clearly don't want to quote the best.

Hey-ho its there loss sadly.

Watch out if you have an agreed valuation with Adrian Flux: whilst haggling over this year's renewal premium, they casually told me over the phone that my agreed valuation now has to be 're-agreed' annually, and that the value shown on my renewal was no longer guaranteed! Something they hadn't told me about before...

So just to clarify re. Adrian Flux agreed value - you have to re-submit photos and a fee of £15 at every renewal, then their agreed valuation team will consider it anew. Also it's best not to auto-renew with any of the insurers, because they will always reduce their quote if you make the effort to haggle.

Well I get to put them to the test soon- as renewal date approaches.

Academy don't seem to want the business I guess.

I have been with them a number of years. Renewal
quote was outrageous. So went elsewhere.

I have been with Adrian Flux for the last 5 years I had a policy cancelled on my motorbike back in 2012 . Basically what happen i was a courier at the time had a couple of accident over 3 years Anyway LV was the underwriter and two weeks into the policy they cancelled . Out of two accidents i had one was my fault and the other was not . The one that was not my fault happened outside my house and i was paid out for my bike and injury in 2010 . The guy then went to an accident management company in 2012 and the case was re open but aviva did not inform me . In the end it went back to court in 2013 and the QC was David Camerons brother and went against me . It was tough to get over that one I complained to the FOS and they messed my complaint up and i was awarded compensation but the cancelled policy still stood With Adrian Flux on my 1988 Fiat Strada Aabrth 130TC with 1500 miles parked on my drive with a value of £8000 and 5 years NCB with a london postcode i am paying this year £860 on my classic policy . I asked about my Coupe 16valve turbo and it was £2400 however he said he would ring me back on Moday with a better quote and he did it was £1100 but i declined . At the moment i am doing on the belts on my 20VT and this will be my car from now on as the strada is coming off the road for a few years . I rarely use it as i travel to work on my motorbike . I am 5 months into my policy on the Strada and it will be interesting to see what extra they will charge me for the 20vt

Wow that's quite a story there, when are you getting the quotes for the 20VT?

How many Coupes do you own?

Don't forget to see if the 15% club discount with Hagerty works out for you- worth a look in my opinion

Wow - at that price your paying about the same as a new driver. Maybe you need to get someone else to insure them and have you as a named driver.

I know there are specialists for people with involved insurance histories that may provide cover for what is considered "higher risk" drivers. I don't take you as such from how you have described your experiences, but clearly the industry are. Shameful - but its how they make money out of all of us.

Hoping you find some reasonable insurance quotes (less then 4 figures!)

Regards

Hagherty again this year.

Even simpler to re-insure for the year. Costs stayed the same - and I increased the value of the car.

Agreed value, plus fully comp for me and anyone else with full comp on there's, plus trackday cover and travel cover to all the places I may want to track her in Europe in 2019....well if they are allowing the English in by then.

Just a pleasant way to do business is how I would term them.

regards

MM

Being something of a car nut (amongst other things) I'm always looking for multi-car cover on a limited mileage, owner-driver only basis. Adrian Flux gave me a quote for three cars close to what my previous single car policy would have been for the Alfa Romeo 159 Ti. Can't say fairer than that.

Policy with MarkerStudy, a previous multi-car insurer was ERS. These seem to be difficult to find for a sensible price.

5K miles, owner-driver only, Fully Comp, Protected NCD (9+), minor excesses.
