Could anyone identify what the plastic reservoir is, outlined in the pic below please?

It seems to be a dead-end plastic vessel that is connected only at the air intake end. Is this some kind of resonator? Does it need to be in the system?

Car is a 97 20V NA.

(pic is not my car as mine doesn't have the little plastic cover on top, need to source one)

It's not a reservoir, it's just a cover for the resonator which is kinda important so does play a part with how the engine works smile

As for finding one, yes good luck with that, also be aware there are two designs as the later VIS 154bhp model is a different shape.
