But initially, and not mentioned in any detail in the article, I have read that the system can be turned off on a per-journey basis. Nonetheless I don't like it and will prefer to keep my ancient coupe.

I have to admit I have wondered for years why cars which have GPS and therefore can access maps of the current speed limits still allow one to set the cruise control at a hundred and twenty in a thirty limit...
