The Scottish Section of the Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club is delighted to announce that following a brief absence, Scottish Italian Car Day is scheduled to return in 2019. This year’s event will be held on Sunday May 26th at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry (just outside Edinburgh) so please get the date in your diary right away! Some of you may have attended car shows at this venue in the past and will be aware that it provides an excellent back-drop for the display of fine Italian machinery. What’s more, the large area of hard-standing and metalled access route means that presenting your car in tip-top condition should be trouble-free! As always we will be seeking your help to assist with various tasks on the day and we will announce further details of how you can get involved in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please make sure that you “Save the Date” – it would be a shame to miss the return of SICD and we are really counting on a bumper turnout from the Italian car community to make a success of this revived event.

Hi Craig, excellent news that SAROC has convinced those at HH that this show has been missed in the last few years We'll definitely put this date in the diary. Are you able to give us an idea at this stage what's in the pipeline for food and beverage, stuff to do for kids and other family members etc? (I edited your post btw as the info had "repeated")

Apologies for the delay, things were changing so I was waiting for everything to be confirmed.
There will be catering with an "Italian theme" available. Other than the House itself we are not planning any other attractions.

Until I find out definite times we'll stick to the time-honoured rendezvous at MacDonald's, Forth Road Bridge services, anytime from 0930 - leave in convoy at 1000 so as to be in position by 1015/1030.
TBC...

A very enjoyable day it turned out to be in spite of the showers - just good and plain Italiana on quiet display with plenty of good craic to keep it flowing. Well done to the organisers for all their hard work behind the scenes A new owner appeared a little later in a recently purchased broomy 20vt from a dealer in Corby - good to meet Greg, though don't think he's on here.... Pics to follow
