Hi Folk, looking to find my first coupe, love the style of them, engine note and performance. Noticed asking prices are all over the place from £1k - £20k. If I can find the right one in the lower middle not in black one silver I will be very happy

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your search smile Yes prices are all over the place and probably best to buy on condition and history rather than colour but the coupe does look better in some colours rather than others. Be willing to travel a distance and there used to be an owners service where they would view cars on others behalf or accompany them on a viewing. Not sure if that's still the case confused Don't dismiss Gumtree as I've seen some decent coupes appear on there and use the DVLA MOT data as that will give you a decent feel for the car's condition and maintenance over the years.

Hello and welcome bayliss. You're in the right place to find info on the coupe, but not necessarily exclusive to buy one. There's a good buyers guide and tons of info to help you along.
Cheers.
Joe.

Thank you, joe has already been extremely helpful to me regards my search. My colour choice has already bitten me, I prefer not to buy a silver or black coupe which is a shame otherwise I would snap up the ex duffy car!!
No huge race to buy in though, I will try and make sure I purchase the car that is right for me. Having said no rush to buy I can’t wait to get behind the wheel.

Hi there bayliss welcome. I wish you well in your quest for the ideal Coop. Coops, decent ones are scarce on the ground at realistic prices. In my humble opinion, you will find one that's reasonable & be prepared to spend some extra cash getting it up to your standards. Just my thoughts.

Around twelve years ago I purchased my Coop for four grand, in very good condition, a steal if you think about now. I did try to look after it as best as could, but no Coop specialists up here, some garages would not look at it, some didn't know what it was shocked Alas the dreaded tin worm made an appearance plus other bits & bobs needed attention, so it's away at the moment as we speak being attended to.

As any Coop owner will tell you, there will be highs & lows, but the highs more than make up for anything else.... driving Apologies getting a wee bit carried away about Coop things.... laugh

Hi jimboy and thanks for the welcome. I set my budget around the £6 - £8k area, but I don’t mind paying less for the right car !!
Found coupé that I am ready to buy, everything ticks my boxes except it needs another two grand spending on it which makes it a ten thousand pound car. It’s ready for a full service and belts, deal with minor rust in each wheel arch, repair the A/C. So the search goes on.

You are not a million miles from Joe Country Cruising, he's your man, speak to him, he knows where there are decent Coops to be had & sometimes he may have one to sell himself.

There is now only one after CM closed in Scotland. Continental in Port Glasgow, The owner of the garage has a mint yellow 16v Turbo in Yellow. All he does is Fiats, Lancia, Alfa and Maser.

I have found a garage in Nairn, only 23 miles from me. Bitz, they do motorsport & know their way around Lancia engines & they have been very helpful in the past . Prior to this I've had to rely on mechanics I know & had to travel to Aberdeen to Wallace Performance for the belt changes. There used to be a forum member on here that worked there. I have managed small jobs on the Coop, but you know how it goes, you either land up putting it all back together wondering why the hell did I try this, or you discover something else needs attention before you can sort the initial problem.... banghead Ah the joys of Coop ownership.
