Hello. Please count me as reconfirmed!

A quick question of etiquette. If the weather is abysmal is it bad form not to bring your Coupe?

Mine seldom goes out in the wet but don’t want to let the side down!

Gary

I will be driving our mini to the event, coupe is tucked up in the garage ! I don’t like using it on salty roads.

Hey Gary

Great point and no driving our Coupes to this event is not required - mine are both off the road for ever ongoing repairs lol and have been for over a year now as I never seem to get the chance to get into the garage anymore.

See y'all Friday

Then I shall too arrive in my Mini! My coupe is running and in good shape but agree about the salty roads. Just had it under sealed following a brake upgrade, but if I put it back in the garage wet, I’m always afraid I’d be able to sweep it up in a dust pan and brush by the following morning!

Gosh you lot make me feel guilty! I've had my Coupe 15 years now, and for the 1st 11 years I had it, it was driven daily and kept outside in all the elements that mother nature could chuck at it! It has 165k on it too.

For the last 4 years it does have a place in the garage but, it comes out whatever the weather as I love driving it (my daily vehicle is a Vivaro LWB van!!). Only this year has Roger advised me that it needs a new rear subframe due to corrosion, but this is the first major rust issue that I have had with it.

I shall be in the Coupe on Friday as it hasn't been out this week yet!

What is the address for Friday please? And it's 8pm meet yes?

Thank you,
Dan

Dan, pop into page 1 of this thread, it’s the 12 post down for address and time. Yes it’s a 8.0pm start.
These Coupe’s are not only great to drive and admire but tough old birds too then! !!

Sorry for having rush off last night but it was great to spend the evening with some other passionate Coupe enthusiasts. Wishing I had dug mine out of the garage now as it was a clear dry run home. I hope we can do it again soon and get to some events next year. Have a Happy Christmas. Gary

No worries Gary - it was great to meet you and look forward to seeing your plus sometime in the new year.
A Porto meetup is definitely on the cards if I ever get mine back on the road David (lol).
I will PM you my mobile so you can join us on the WhatsApp group :-)

Glad you guys had a good xmas meet-up! Just sorry I could not attend!

Richard-we all appreciate your effort for local endeavours and getting things fired up locally for the club!

Here's looking to 2020 and warmer weather (global warming my foot!) for the next local coupe airing!

Regards to all local Coupe fans!!

MM

Richard, just to mention that I do not ‘do’ facebook or any such things, however I am keen to meet up coopsters at any various events in the future. Your efforts are appreciated, Merry Christmas Happy New Year to all.
