I’m looking to fit some Eibach lowering springs to my 1998 20VT , at the same time I’m thinking about replacing the dampers , having done some reading I’m considering going for standard replacement.

I was keen for Monroes but I can’t find from dampers . The only ones I can find that are front and back from the same manufacturer are TRW .

Firstly anyone any experience with TRW / Eibach combination ?

Secondly should the front and rear damper manufacturer of OEM / standard set up match or could I go Monroe rear and TRW front ?

Any help much appreciated

hi, I installed TWR last year (front and rear) in combination with Hormann lowering springs. I have to say that I am fine, my previous setup were the adjustable tecnix TAs and they were hard as concrete. i'm glad to be at twr now. when I bought the car it was on front monroe and rear kyb always with Hormann springs and I don't think I hear any difference, but a mechanic told me that I would not have passed the mot with two different brands so I made the mistake of switching to adjustable up to last year I bought Twr.

Are the Monroe dampers £1000 each ? That’s what they are listed on eBay by Alternative Autos ! Might be a little over my budget !
