My rocker cover has been painted previously, in a silvery white, with gloss black text.
It's a 1999 20v NA.

Any one got a picture of what it would have been initially.

Paul

Is it the metal rocker cover or plastic?

Either way, they are not painted as standard. Only the Turbo (plus/LE) are painted.

OK.. Well they were not painted originally, but there are lots of pictures of the red crinkle paint cover of the LE on google. I think the lettering is white or silver.

Thanks Gripped

I'll leave it as it is.
I don't want to pretend that it is other than an NA.

Looks very presentable there Paul without being outrageous smile

Were you considering altering it/is the finish damaged in some way?

Looks good. Close to the original metal but with black text to contrast.

Looks like you need new bonnet struts...

Engine bay looks to be in good condition

The main cover paint is a little poor and the black lettering looks cheap and nasty, to match the big useless knob behind the steering wheel.

The rams have never worked and I think that the telescopic walking stick is factory fit.

MOT yesterday resulted in a new CV boot being required and an advisory on a chip to the screen. Tester hadn't noticed in the last four years, so a little disappointing.

Cambelt in a fortnight.

Walking stick to remain !

That's not a bad result at all.

Would you undertake a refurb yourself? You could maybe just strip off what's there and buff it up (without spreading off-cast everywhere!)

Otherwise it's probably a whip-it-off/proper job/get refitted with new gasket job.

I think that the refurb is something that I ought to try myself.

I'll need to do a lot of studying and research, and then take my time.

What colours to go for are still to be thought through.
I'm thinking of getting advice from Grayson Perry.

I like the idea of that, with the right car with the right lighting.

Late October in Middlesbrough might not work !
