Had a message today on my I pad regarding a small pension I forgot about. Wife and I both said take the money, this was when a mini computer nightmare began. I choose to chat with someone online, what a faff about. I want to withdraw my pot of money, how can we help you, what!!!! I repeat myself, good morning comes the reply, this goes on for ages. At last, we will connect you with one of our pension experts. I’m not going to bore you with exact details but it’s back and forth for the next 20 mins, in the end go back to the start and press on my fund, this when I gave the I pad to my wife.

An hour later all done money into bank in the next five days, that’s after not accepting our first bank. Honestly even my Mrs was amazed at the fanny about. anyone else experienced this situation?

I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

Not necessarily about pensions Jim, but the "communication" issues, constantly.

"Our business is important to you", "Valuable customer" etc rolleyes

I find the more and more of the bigger institutions are becoming less and less accessible, it's like someone is slowly covering them with stealth paint. They don't like you to visit, to call - unless you give in and wait the obligatory 20 minutes - and then the "Chat" option has to contravene trades descriptions as you're often sounding off to a robot.

"I'm sorry I didn't understand that" when you say "landline not working" or "no dialling tone" to a telephone provider as happened to me last week when calling TalkTalk grr

It's hardly surprising when some enterprising people look for ways to get around the system.

This is quite a good mid-week rant laugh

Your business is important to us, but not quite important enough to hire someone to answer the bloody phone.

I like the joined up thinking... I have a number of accounts at a high street bank, and an associated credit card. So logged onto the bank, I transfer to the credit card so I can make a payment. Which I pay with a debit card on the bank. Which the bank refuses because it doesn't think I'm me... then the bank sends a text asking if it was me, and when I say yes, it says, try again. So I do, and it bounces a second time. Eventually - on the third attempt - the payment goes through.

Security is all very well, but when I can't pay from one member of a banking group to another without a headache...
