The coupe has finished its continental sojourn, so it's coming back to England today.

Potsdam - Calais - Ashford today; Ashford - Upton tomorrow, where it'll go into storage, then Birmingham - Berlin - Potsdam tomorrow evening.

Good to hear you made it back home safely- and the car is also back safely tucked away!

Now having a bloody nightmare trying to SORN it... can't do it online, can't do it by ringing up the DVLA, have to fill forms in and send them off by post. Amazing...

Tried using a VPN Neil?

Just "tell " it you are in the UK.

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

It's not an 'in the UK' thing; it's recognising the number plate and magic number combination but for some reason it won't let me do anything with it, nor sorting out that it has an old address and correcting that. Neither could the bloke at the DVLA sitting in front of a terminal do it - he sounded quite annoyed about that.

I keep a UK address (though the car doesn't live there) and the insurance is quite happy about that.

Annoyingly, I handed Joe all the documentation - including the V5 - when I brought the car back, so now it's in the post back to me in Germany.

Neil

(I note that the DVLA computer system has been considered a joke in the IT trade for years... can't think why.)
