After a struggle last week I managed to get the spacesaver spare wheel out of the boot.

It was still inflated, but sometime in the last 3 months it had blown its tread off.

I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.
I even unplugged my own.

Another thing for the 'to do' list. You never look at them until you need them by which time it might be too late.

Hmmm. A very timely and thought provoking post PeteP for us all!

I'd say you found this at the best time.

Your post has sent me scrabbling -After the same struggle - wheel needs to be lifted up at rear and away from you- before you try and lift it or it just gets stuck on the edge of the trim for the boot-I found mine looking in good condition- but way below the recommended pressure.

Fresh air back inside it- although I admit to chickening out at 51 psi-as the recommended maximum of 60psi felt a long way to go-on old rubber.

Thanks for sharing this again!

Gives us all something to add to the list for this weekend!

Regards

The tyres also expand with age: the old one was about 40mm greater in diameter than that of the new 125/70 R15 despite being the same nominal size.

It was so tight in the wheelwell that it needed a crowbar to get it out once I had managed to undo the retaining clamp with a pair of water pump pliers.
