Hi all,

I was trying to access the How To page on the forum, however, when I click on any of the threads I get an error message saying "Sorry, you are not logged in or you don't have permission for that." Just a tad bit confused as it used to work for me .

I'm probably doing something wrong, I just can't figure it out...

As an infrequent visitor to the Forum you may not have seen any of the recent announcements about the change of access to How To's and other technical areas to be for paid-up Club members only.

Ok that’s understandable, however, it seems a bit crazy that I can’t even access the How To pages that I contributed to?

I spent my own time and effort making a guide just for it to be locked behind a paywall…

For what it's worth, all of us who pay annual Club membership (which includes those who run the Club on an unpaid basis) also pay for those How-to's which they themselves have contributed to. Almost a generation ago the fee was £25 which then got reduced to £10 as an experiment to attract new members; a few years later it was increased to £15 but in recent years this proved to be unsustainable so has reverted to £25.

The present situation has been explained in DaveG's post above - it may not work for some but the continued accessibility of technical information through hosting costs needs to be financially supported.

On another note, if you still have your Energy Green 20vt, do you have any interesting and characteristic photos you might like to offer for consideration for potential inclusion in next year's calendar? As a Club member you would get a free copy sent to you

Might be worth noting (and I'm sure you have) that some 'technical/maintainence/how to issues are appearing under different threads eg tuning/styling etc.Can't really see how tuning is ever less than technical.
