I'm after recommendations for speakers to accompany the Pioneer DEH-p77mp - here's the specification - Spec

I'm just after direct fit speakers for a Renault clio 172 front and rear ( 5 1/4 speakers). I have no intention of fitting an amp and I don't want speakers in the rear shelf. I just want to get the most out of the head unit.

Thanks for your help

My advice, go for either the MB Quart Discus range, or the Focal Access range. All of this kenwood/alpine/pioneer stuff doesnt compare to either one of those ranges, although they may be a bit cheaper (but not always). Whats your budget? Does it take components or coax's front/rear?

MB quart stuff has been more and more difficult to get hold of in the uk recently, although there's some sellers on gaybay. Focal stuff is more widespread, here's a 5.25" coax:

Trust me, this stuff is miles better than the normal big brand manufacturer stuff. Don't know why people don't use the specialist speaker manufacturers stuff over widespread brands tbh, I mean - something like JVC speakers, why bother when you can have Focal? All the USA car audio mags with SQ competitions in that I read about mostly had cars with Focal Utopia/MB Quart Q series/top end Rainbow speakers powering the front soundstage. Maybe people don't know companies like this exist, or that they do a entry level line.

Sideways a LOT

I'm going for coaxial speakers. The Focal range have been recommended by someone else too so I'm on the look out for some now. I didn't want to spend over £80-90 total for the 4 speakers so I may have to venture onto Egay for some bargains!!!

Thanks for the info Simma

i find the focal 165 cheapo speakers weak on bass, very small magnets, so would suggest something else for yourself as you are not fitting extra bass

munchkin go and listen to some sets of speakers mate and decide your self some ones paradise is another persons night mere, s1mma is right in a sense about the usual manufacturer low end products but I have found focal/ mb quart, is only a slight up grade if that , very harsh, poor staging imo phoenix gold, jl audio morel just to name a few blow them away, and quality front ends [imo] start at £500 upwards and then your getting into audio file, I currently have a cdt[formally cliff designs] front end it cost a grand trade and trust me nothing out there compares, before that I used image dynamics front end set up 8 inch mid base in the doors and wave guides,[£1200]being in the business for so many years I have played with just about every thing out there, and good advice is, every one has there fav`s but its you that has to be happy with price and performance, set your self a budget and go listen for your self. Hope this helps
