Is there something wrong here or am I missing something?

Would a Spesso head gasket for a 16VT cost that much ???

Vas, the one on ebay is a slightly thinner one, 1,6mm.

On standard compression engines, we always use the 1,9mm reinforced gasket without the separate rings (part nr. 66212), costs about £90 incl.VAT or the acier cometic reinforced gasket that also costs £90

Cheers

I used the Spesso group N gasket - it was either 50gbp or 80gbp - can't recall 100%

Cheers

Be carefull the cometic head gasket is 1mm thick only. You can't get them as reinforced anymore. Anyway even the standard is steel and strong and you can get them from US at 50 gbp.

Do you know the standard gasket thickness please ?

As has been posted, that's the gasket with separate rings, UK list price including VAT for that one is £228.54 so the price is fair

But doesn't look like current Spesso Racing packaging, and it will be an old stock item. The older "rings" gasket has a dowel alignment problem due to faulty tooling, Spesso have rectified this but the new gaskets are on order, they have not been released yet - so don't suppose this guy has got the latest ones

Most people tend to go with the GpA 1.9mm gasket when going down the "rings" path, even those who buy the non-rings gasket only ever use the 1.9mm ones so I don't bother stocking the thinner ones

If you're looking to buy, PM me and I'll mail you back with a quote including shipping to Greece. UK retail prices for the Fiat Coupe can be found at http://www.nyssaracing.com/shop/spesso/fiatcoupe.php

Spesso Racing don't make a gasket for the 20vt, but the stock one works that well (even in my race car) that there would be little point

blimey that's expensive, so everytime you open the head to check if the pistons are still there and in one piece, you waste a couple of hunded quid just in gasket!

Not sure, but i think the standard gasket thickness is 1,7mm.

Were i order the acier cometic reinforced gaskets in France, the come in 2 sizes 1,52mm and 1,9mm.

Stock ones are pretty strong.
Mostly, the culprit of head gasket failure is a combination of running high boost, stock headbolts instead of high tensile ones, even wrong tightening of the head bolts.

It's very strange. Here is the cometic catalog Cometic
and the only refenrece available for lancia delta engine is 0.040" thick (so about 1mm). Which shop in France did you contact ?

I ordered mine from US it's alot cheaper.

You are right I can see them on the Jacquemin catalog. It's a recent update I think. I got the C4124HP and I m' pretty sure it's 1mm thick only.

They are available for a while now. Spesso is the most popular but acier cometic is not bad either.

In the shop we had a guy like jari (sorry ) once. He was also running excessive boost with a standard gasket and blew them all the time. We got him a soft copper head gasket (custom made) and ARP head bolts and it was perfect. Unfortunately he had to crash the car and is driving an old renault diesel now

Were are you located in France?
Cheers.
