Further to my posting last Spetember, have now got replacment car, so beloved Ink Black Turbo Plus must go quickly (have < 14 days insurance cross-over).

Any ideas on what I should advertise it for ? I've had an offer of 5K to trade it in, but think it may be worth a bit more than that ...

- only 2 owners (I've had it since Sept 2003)
- 2000 W-reg
- Ink Black Plus, with all usual plus extras
- Serviced annually
- Cambelt done last April (when it was 6 years)
- Only 29,500 miles!
- Wonderful condition - especially interior (black leather recaros)

- only downers are; very small (almost unnoticeable) dent on leading edge of bonnet (just below badge); have main key and red key, but have mislaid second key in house move.

Low mileage Pluses are very much in demand - there's regularly threads on here from people wanting them. Maybe spend a bit of time checking the cars wanted section and PMing those who have expressed an interest.

If you weren't in a hurry to sell I'd ask £7.5k.

I paid £7.5k for my Ink Black 2000 'W' Plus in November last year, with 46k miles. I would have paid another grand on that for one with a mileage like yours that didn't need the clutch doing..

Goes without saying really that you'll get what people are prepared to pay, but can you wait for the right person with the right $$$....

For me "Clinker" means Good. the phrase "Ah shes a clinker" means that I think its good car. Pure and simple there is some sort of mis-understanding here. I was trying to crack a joke(obviously not very well) about Skodaman and Davidud starting a bidding war or something .

I'm a moderator on another car forum and have noticed in the past that because there is no "face to face" interaction on message boards that expression and body language cannot be read. As a result messages can often be mis-interpreted. That is why forums have the smiley faces but as I used quick reply I didn't use them (Sorry). I would never insult anybody on a public forum or in any other way on a day to day basis.

I thought after the Coupe meet all the Irish Coupe owners got on well. I hope there are no ill feelings.

Thanks for the interest in my low mileage plus. For a variety of (personal) reasons, W 381 PHU has now been sold to Solo Italia of Oxford - it went off on their truck this morning. Sad to see it go, but life goes on ... and I'm more than happy with its replacement.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I paid £7.5k for my Ink Black 2000 'W' Plus in November last year, with 46k miles. Mine is in need of a new clutch, so there's £500'ish, plus I've paid extra for a 24 month warranty, had a small service done, new Handbrake cables and other 'consumables', so I'm probably looking at a spend of £8,700 anyway.

Somebody will definately pay the asking price on this, if I needed another Ink Black Plus, then I'd probably have it and garage it.

There is no pleasing some people though you moan when coupes go for £1500 and moan when someone asks £9k for one It is still relatively cheap though a Grande Punto in poverty spec must cost about that.

The only shame about this car is that it went via a trader who'll look to clear at least 1.5k out of it. If someone here had bought it off the forum, then the price would have been a lot easier to swallow.

They are offering 2 years warranty with the car though. Still expensive though.

If they do it will be good news for those of us who've been talking up the prices of ours - plus anyone who writes theirs off and needs to get some price ammo for their insurance company.

I dont think its too pricey, no doubt it came for 5k but thats business and were all a bit stupid if we moan at companies making proffit.

I think a new rocker cover and a bit more work on presentation is in order.

As I found out when negotiating with the insurance company, trying to buy a good coop is pretty hard. Try and find another late model with cough, low miles...hens teeth these days. My 98 with 92k on it was worth £3k, even to the insurance company
