hi guys, ive got a sony xplod 50x4 head unit that came with the car, only problem is, when i try to turn it up, wen it reaches a certain volume it cuts out. ive been told this might be due to my battery no be powerful enough i am not convinced, i do not wnat to go out and buy a head unit for no reason, as i am planning to buy a sub and amp soon.

Any suggestions would me much appreciated.

thats the head unit unit i've got and have had no problems with it. i'm running a sub and amp off it but i would recommend upgrading all the speakers to really appreciate the sound - i've had infinity fitted. at what level does it cut out. i've found that the sound starts to distort after about 26.

Internal amp power supply is stuffed...running it on an amp via the pre-outs is an option if you wanna go that route.
