Hi Folks smile

The time has come to move on from Fiat Coupe land frown

I'm going to sell my 1997 (P) 20VT (waiting for permission to post on the marketplace). I'm looking for any suggestions on price. Basic info as follows:

Reg June 1997
123,500 miles
Portofino Blue
1 previous owner (to 90k)
FSH - fully stamped book to 90k, then all receipts for everything done since
MOT & Tax to end July 07
Just serviced this week - fixed a few niggles & 4 new tyres went on in Oct. Everything still works fine.

Other stuff:
Standard car, apart from: Koni shocks fitted in 2005, along with Scorpion s/s back box (old tailpipe had done that corroding thing)
No red key, but never needed it (replaced the battery no problem)
Bodywork is generally fine, but you'll notice the scratched tailgate from carrying bikes too many times! Also a ding in the wing where some idiot squeezed past while I was parked (but didn't know how big their car was) grr
Original alloys (although they're showing their age)

I've started looking at other cars (heresy, I hear you cry!) and was offered 2,000 trade-in against a 2002 MX5 by one place, and 1,500 against an Integra Type-R somewhere else at the weekend. Seems a shame to relegate it to auction-ville. What do you reckon - will I get more privately?

I've got a few pics here:

Any opinions?

Hmm, with the mileage, scratched tailgate, no red key and that little bash, I'd have to say 2-2.5K frown

Coopless!

Those trade ins seem a reasonable basis for negoitation given your description. The car looks pretty good but people are obsessed with mileage and the lack of red key will put the most off.

I'd say that may be high, based on the description, I am assuming original clutch and turbo, high mileage, not the best colour to sell on IMO and the scratches, etc. You very top price would be £2k I would say.

If you're being offered £2k pex on a car you like, I would jump at the chance smile

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Re the p/x offers, I think the 'safe' history and overall appearance appealed to them as things they could sell on, although I realise the negatives are the key and the bodywork blemishes. Thought I'd better point them out, as your typical forum member would be all over those details - the traders don't seem to be so picky!

So 2k isn't far off the mark then? Still seems like a whole lot of fun for 2 grand, doesn't it... tongue
