You can get a cam belt kit (and a whole lot of other coop parts) from alternative autos but changing the cam belt is not straight forward, so your mechanic would need to be familiar with the coop to give you a price - or he'll be in for a shock when he comes to do it.

£450.00 for the belt change at a specialist is more then reasonable. and will include all tensioners, pulleys, water pump and auxilliary belts smile

Get the seller to knock off a couple of hundred or have the belts done before the sale

yeah the guy im using, has done fiat coupes before, hes got his own mechanic business etc. hes really recommended otherwise i wouldnt go near him hes a family friend also which helps.

The seller said he would come down to 2400 it also needs a new driver side rear tyre soon but is more or less showroom apart from that. 2400 sound fair?

also from that link is this the parts i'll need? surely i'm missing something that seems well cheap

Price Retail Price

Cam Tensioner adjustable £39.95 £58.72
Cam Tensioner Fixed £15.95 £21.52
