Ok seems to be a Fairly common thing to do on VWs etc to get a set of German Plates made up to the make the car look like its from the mother land! So i got a set of Italian Pressed Alloys ones made up for the front of the coupe. Wat do you think? yes or no? From FarClose-up Iain

Ross Not if they're visiting but if you import the car then it's supposed to be re-registered as a UK car and hence subject to UK rules = no Italian plates. Definitely illegal but I don't know if/for how long you'd get away with it. ACPO have recently advised not to prosecute bikes for small plates provided they are still clearly legible from 20m, but I guess that would be for standard font and layout. Tamper with the plate in any way and you're always liable for a tug I guess.
