Today me and a mate (with a subaru type RA) both booked our cars in for a RR diagnostic session at weston performance http://www.westonperformance.com/they said they've had a couple of 20vt in before, anybody off here had any dealings with these people?. from the website they look pretty proffessional, and claim to have one of, if not the most advanced rolling road in the country, and after speaking them they seem very friendly and helpfull so really looking forward to it they are a bit pricey at £75 + vat, but i will get an hour on the road, including BHP figures Torque figures Boost analysis fueling check knock test so not to bad i dont think. Anyway, what figures do you think i should expect? mods include.. GTEC 1 Walbro 255 + wiring mod Armval switchable PRV (base / 1.0bar, with 1.2 overboost) Peco cat back K&N panel with mod air box uprated DV thats all at the mo any ideas? ninja

I reckon at 1.0 bar with 1.2 overboost you'll run about 230-240. If you can hold 1.2 bar in the midrange then 250-260.

Yes - on your setup you'll get 10-15 bhp per 0.1 bar of boost increase, over 1.2 bar and you'll get diminishing returns, and at 1.4 you may well find you get less than at 1.2 as the turbo is not efficient at this level (would also give fuelling issues + high charge temps etc.)
1.0 bar is standard boost - the power hike from a chip comes mainly from the boost hike, though some play with the ignition advance as well.

well very impressed in a whole, very friendly, helpful advice (straight to the point, not trying to sell me everything on the shelf) very clean workshop, and some very good equipment! (lots of very highly moddified cars on the car park, mainly jap, evos, supras, silvias) as for the results, suba you were right - Max 241.4bhp @ 1.0bar! which i'm happy with for the level of tuning. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/bravo_rich/rr_results_2small.jpgas the graph shows, i have a boost spike when the boost comes in, causing it to run a little lean, but this settles quickly. This is due to the manual PRV and can be easily rectified with an EBC. i am also running a little rich at the top end, EBC should sort this by holding the boost a little better further up the rev range (Next mod me thinks ) all in all a vary good day, except for my mates subaru, which he found out his exhaust was FUBAR and he needed new spark plugs, but he still pulled 271bhp (should be 300+ when he gets a full de-cat sorted) would recommended them to any one heres a few pics Rolling road http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/bravo_rich/RR1small.jpghttp://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/bravo_rich/RR2small.jpgowners 650bhp supra http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/bravo_rich/RR3small.jpgwestons drift car (and customers cozzie in the back) http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/bravo_rich/RR4small.jpgrich
