Well, GT28RS and Paddle clutch fitted i went to PT to get the car mapped. Results are as follows: Maximum Power @ 1.4 bar - Wheels: 303.1bhp @ 6,263rpm Maximum Power @ 1.4 bar - Fly: 327bhp @ 6,295rpm Maximum Torque 291.1 lbft @ 5.250rpm I had the car mapped on BP Ultimate, just to avoid me having to goto the shell in neasden everytime i want petrol. Rob@PT reckoned i may have seen another 10-15bhp on V-Power but id rather lose power and not pink if i have to buy "other" fuel. My injectors were nearing their limits and i asked him that he put safety first before power, so i could get a fair bit more out of the car but that will have to wait till next year and some bigger injectors, forged internals and headwork. (maybe )

I reckon if i'm going to mod any further i'l be going with the GT28rs/r. Have already got the TI stage 2 head but no cams.
What injectors would be the next step?

You can fuel 350 bhp and a bit over with 3.8 bar fuel pressure on the standard injectors - they are maxed out over 5,000 rpm at 300 bhp though, so not ideal.
If you go to bigger injectors you'll need the car live mapped or you have to go to an aftermarket ECU to control them properly - a unichip will control them, but only on boost. Apparently it's possible on a unichip, but so far no mapper has been able / willing to take that on as far as I know. if you're going bigger on the injectors you might as well go for 440's IMO.

cant't belive the V-power difference! There was a company that did some testing on fuels with a rolling road on a BMW M3 and a couple of other cars too. Changing from 95ron to tesco's 99ron gave an extra 40 odd bhp on the M3 after putting the fuel in for 3 tanks or something!!! Mark

I have no WI, i will get a livemap next time, the Unichip is becoming obsolete now but it has kept me running safely for 2 years which has been its main benefit.
I went for a Unichip map as its relatively easy, livemaps are more difficult i heard and theres not much point in spending twice the money if im going to get more work done later.
My coupe has entered a new level in terms of performance, it feels seriously quick now and gets to silly speeds in a blink of the eye. The stupidly low transmission losses are accredited to the paddle clutch im assuming!

Akeme - what exhaust? I'd have expected you to get a little more torque than that. Sparco - Both Alessandro and I have the RSR and TI stage 3 head. Results to follow.

How much torque you think i should have? I would have thought 300 lb/ft ... what were the ambient temps like?

Dunno - about 10-20ft\lbs more. But you did say thet you were running ultimate fuel and not v-power.
Ambient temps don't matter as the RR graphs adjust for that.

Ambient temps don't matter as the RR graphs adjust for that. Not always (and even then can they accurately correct for heat soak?), some just correct for transmission losses (I think there are different standard formulas they can use?) and his at the fly figure is not that much higher than his wheels figure ...? Most people running 1.4 midrange with a standard head seem to get 300 lb/ft?

No probs, at 1.5 bar 323 lb/ft and 313 bhp @wheels.
The results are good, by running higher octane fuel and adding water/methanol injection ,you could quite 'safely' run an extra couple of degrees advance, which would equate to 20-30 lbft/bhp.
I have to admit, that I am still far from convinced that there is much benefit in going for a live map as apposed to a Unichip map (other than running larger injectors), the Unichip also allows you to run dual ignition maps, say for water injection on/off, .or even 95/99ron fuel, which is not possible with a live map, that's why I stayed with the Unichip.

Yep, Ross, I went to several other rollers , all gave within 5bhp of PTS, so I had no reason to doubt PTS.
However G-force rollers gave 20 lb/ft more than PTS at a Fiat coupe RR day,...... most found rather unusually higher torque figures that day.

joe The torque figure of 323 is v good. Was that just a peak? What was it flatlining at? Ross
