Got my refurbed Standard turbo coming tomorrow from Turbo Dynamics. Just wondering would anything need doing to it before I fit it? i.e. setting the actuator up?

Cheers

Ben

The actuator is pre set, it is advisable to have an oil change and fit a new oil feed pipe to the turbo.

turn over the engine till the oil pressure light goes out before actually starting it.

Totally standard rebuild, I believe (from what I can remember from my telephone conversation)

Oversize bearings
New thrust bearing (I assume 270 degree standards)
New oil seals
New Turbine + Shaft
New Actuator

Was £280 + vat, not cheap I know, but it feels and looks like a new turbo so should hopefully out last the car now!

Oh and they managed to turn it round in a day, once I had given them the go ahead so pretty quick stuff!

Well just to update this thread.

Fitted it today and the car seems a whole lot more responsive, seems to come on boost a bit quicker also (I realise this is probably all in my head!) Also fitted an uncracked manifold so this may have something to do with it!
