I have promised myself a coupe for a good few years now and now i am going to go for it,I have never purchased a car because of it's colour, allways it's price and no of owners ect! However this time I want to purchase the right car with the right colour. I did like yellow a few years back but now i like the dark black/charcoal and blue colours.What is the general opinion on colours here in the forum? Thanks

Yellow is rubbish, portafanny is for girls, red fades and is prone to crashing, sprint blue is common, electric blue is the daddy.... I could go on.

It's all down to personal taste, the coop is one of the cars that looks good in most colours, so if you like yellow buy a yellow one, if you like blue buy a blue one, etc.

Nah not really, coops go more on condition, history, etc.

My faves are Yellow (but only if the sils are painted or it has a kit) or electric blue.

The reason why my car isnt either of those, i recently killed my yellow one and decided i would have a change, and despite what JimO says actually from what i saw looking around, The Electric Blue ones did seem (to me at least) to go for more than other colours.

(i saw an electric blue late model standard car for sale for more than my wine red plus cost me, with similar miles etc)

yeah but electric blue ones are 99% of the time pluses or VT6's so they always get a premium anyway.

A yellow plus will hold a premium over a blue plus, because there are so few yeloow pluses, a sparkly white plus, holds a premium over the yellow plus, because there are even less sparkly white ones. But std coops, each colour gets about the same money IMO.

And just because a car is advertised for more, doesn't mean it sells for more

I don't think green or chrono grey are very popular. Black does the car no favours at all IMHO. All other colours are great.

Red LE's tend to get snapped up quite quickly i thought.

i think the colour is a very personal choice, i used to have a porto and i got another porto again 5 years later but if i could i would have pearly white but they are rare and expensive.
i like electric blue and wine red and could live with a yellow one.
wouldn't have a red one now although i did used to want a red LE due to the fact for some reason they get bumped.
i like black LE's but not keen on ink black/blue in the flesh.
sorry for a lot of people out there but my least fav colours are sprint blue and scotts green.
moon grey and vinci grey are very nice but chrono grey not to my taste at all.

I think probably the green(s) are the least fave colours, but just pick one you like! I have my fave

yeah but thats cos they're LE's. Red coops don't sell any quicker than any other colour

just got back after a lovely DRIVE in my porto, not just a sit outside my house and had a lovely big dinner!!

i think if you are unsure about which colour you like you have to see them in the flesh

porto is stunning with a few subtle alterations..... lowered with 18" wheels, tinted windows, LE skirts + lips, zender spoiler, induction kit and de-cat. not so effeminate then! everyone comments on the colour - you do get the odd person saying did you have to get a purple one but most of them are dazzled by it

still think my vinci grey looks stunning
otherwise i'd have moon grey, silver or electric blue

Ink black is beautiful
It's the only colour which truly compliments those lovely curves

As said above, the colour is down to personal preference and there are many arguments about which is the best colour.

They are all lovely, it's just that, depending who you are, some colours appeal more than others.

My personal top 6 favourite colours are:

Sprint Blue
Electric Blue
Portofino Blue
The jet black colour on the LE's
Ink Black
The dark maroon coloured ones.

I'm not keen on yellow cars in general, but if I was going to get a yellow one, it would be Fiat's yellow, as it's the best and nicest yellow around

Just buy the best car in a colour you can live with I would say porto is a marmite colour especially for guys and green cars traditionally sell least well.

I personally don't like silver or white cars regardless of what they are.

I'd say get to a local meet, see all the cars in the metal and then buy the best one you can find whatever the colour

the thing with coops is you get the colour inside too and i think some colours suit the dash strip better. except for LE's where you get titanium colour.

Vinci Grey is the best colour.
Then Pearlescent White, then its a total bunfight for third.

Ink Black for third!

I personally like the solid colours best as there`s only a few metallic colours I like on the Coop.

Fav colours then :-

Sprint Blue - obviously
Speed Red - in LE guise it`s
Chrono Grey - THE Marmite Coupé colour,I it
Broom Yellow - not many cars can carry off yellow but the Coop Can
Energy Green - not a big fan of green but the Coop at SICD looked great in that colour.

3rd: Tie between pearly white, ink black, met black, porto, moon grey, and energy green

I think speed red, sprint blue, steel grey etc suit the coupe well, but are too common.

My least favourite are Black, Silver.

Best are Sprint Blue, Yellow & Red. I also have a soft spot for Porto.

The non-metalic colours really work on the coupe IMO.

But its all personal choice, get the colour you want.

I don't really like it, bit old man, however does look nice when clean.

Personally I like silver, red & yellow (all only whne clean), dark blue is nice too. Hate blank, ink black, sprint blue.

Wine Red had never been a colour that stood out to me however if they are clean it looks nice... but my god its such a pain to keep clean!!!

LE/Plus Colours: Pearly Plus, Black LE, Electric Blue Plus, Moon Grey, Yellow Plus, and Finally Red Plus.

Have you noticed every colour has a kit on it, LE/PLUS skirts and lips are a must in order for the colour to stand out for me. My opinion only,,, thanks

I always get bored of a colour after a while and tend to find other ones more attractive. I still love moon grey though, but on some days it just looks dull to me and I wish I'd have bought a yellow or sprint blue plus instead.

I agree Jurgen. Some days I love the colour of my Mooner, other days I think it looks quite bland.

Still ache for a yellow Plus. One day soon, maybe.....

Electric Blue is also gorgeous, especially with Cream Leather

The coupe looks fantastic in the on metallic uni colours like yellow/red/sprint blue, they show the lines very well. That's probably also the reason why Fiat always used those colours for the pics in the brochures.

Blitz blue is definately the best colour...
