hello guys,

i have had a search but not sound the information i'm looking for, i need to know if the Gtec or any other recommended chips disable the imob?

reason i'm asking is one constant problem i hear with bravo 20vT conversions is that the car wont start after until the imob has been disabled, so whats the best way to do this?

Thanks,
Ry

No problems with the Gtech, just plug and play (making sure you plug in the correct orientation of course ;\) ).

Not sure how it would change with a bravo conversion but I dont see it being any different. If it is, just swap the code box and ignition barrel along with the ECU. \:\?

i've thought the same Matt but i keep hearing the words 'imob' and 'wont start' popping up whoever i talk to who has done/doing conversions.

so, just to confirm, the Gtec disables the imob, yes?

Thanks,
Ry

No, the Gtec does not disable the imob. It is a plug and play chip that will give you more power.

To disable the imob on the ECU, you will need the ECU de-coding for it to work.

I would guess a google search of "decode ECU" will work wonders ;\)

There is a different chip in the engine management unit for the immobiliser to the ECU on the 20VT indeed on all Bosch systems AFAIK.
