Anyone going?

I have tickets booked for camping at Beausejour and a car park for Blanc.

Crossing late afternoon on the Wednesday before with speed ferries, not booked a return yet as I may head down to Brittany for a few days.

Karting Nord again this year. Not taking the coupe this year though. Hopefully mates GT3 if he isnt banned for speeding

Think there are 9 of us so far this year.

Leaving on the Wednesday and returning Monday. Look out for the "Camembert Run" cars and shirts!

Can't wait

Im looking at going to Le mans for the first time this year with a few mates and haven't really got a clue as to how the tickets work!?

Is all we need a 'General enclosure' ticket? Not after grandstand seating or anything-i presume this is what all the other names are?

Is £55 about the going rate per ticket? A lay-bys ticket is for camping, correct?

How easy is it to get food/beer etc, as our combined best is my 'C' in GCSE German, which i doubt will help!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Ben.

All you need is a camping permit. You need one per car and this can include as many people / tents as you like. These MUST be booked in advance as there is no chance of getting them at the race.

Face value ranges from about 40 - 80 euros depending on the site for camping (Lay-bys) but as far as I am aware they are now sold out with the exception of some of the obscure sites.

The only way to get them will be through tour operators (usually as part of a ferry package) at whatever the going rate becomes. Maison Blanc camping was going for upto £300 per ticket last year !!!

Good campsites to aim for are Maison Blanc , Houx, Houx Annex - I'm sure others will disagree with my choice (and these will also be the first to sell out).

Entry tickets 'General enclosure' can easily be bought on the gate as they never sell out though it will be easier to buy them at the same time as you get the camping tickets as they sell at face value.

Grandstands are a waste of time as in 24hrs you'll move about too much.

Pit Walk tickets are equally a waste of money as the pits are open to the public all day on Friday.

Food is easy to buy but its the usual, over priced burgers, panninis and baguettes. As is cold beer.

The best bet is to stop at the Carreffoure (sp) supermarket on the way / in Le Mans and stock up on beers and bbq stuff - its dirt cheap.

These are the official prices and a map

Tour Prices

More Tour Prices

If they fail have a look on google for other operators and when you get desperate take out a loan and have a look at eBay!!

So all you need is a camping ticket (in advance) and entrance ticktets which will get you virtually everywhere worth going.

You'll love it !!

John.

There may be some tickets left for Beausejour - they were available at least up to the friday of the event last year. It is a bit further away from the village, but when there is action on the track there is a free bus service.

Tickets aren't issued until near the event, so have a look on ebay in May/early June if you can't get any now.

I always buy the tickets for the race when I get there, and as there will be four or five of us the discount I get from being an ACO member almost pays for the membership!

Best food is the Tarti-flette and the Gran Marnier crepes - help yourself to the alcohol!! We tend to walk between the two stalls all weekend.

Cheap everything is available as mentioned in Carrefour or the other supermarkets.

Le Mans.org still have Beausejour. or try clubarnage.com and the forum, in there is a section called buy/swap/sell. the guys in there sell their tickets at face value covering costs, best to not encourage Ebay sellers as they rob all the camping spaces in the first place. Im holding out for Houx or Houx Annex, fingers crossed. Maison Blanche was cool last year but there are no pitches so people tend to mark of big area meaning if you arrive later than thurs and have a camping ticket you may not actually find any space!

Yeah was in camping in Karting Nord. Short story is, my friends have over budgeted this month on rent and paying for a biking holiday so realised they wont have the spending money for le mans, so have sold there places. Hoepfully the person that organised the whole thing, will be selling my place (ticket entry, camping, ferry etc..)

My tickets arrived last week so all set now. Keep the noise down for the stag do tom! Mind you, if you are only arriving on Friday morning you will be a bit further down Beausejour than us as we should arrive Wednesday evening.

Hardly think the noise from a stag do will over power the music blaring from parties and the fccuking noisy cars

There was one in 2002, but not for the last couple of years - unless it is well hidden!

Getting excited now - just got the car back from a cambelt change (46k since the last one so didn't want to risk it for the 1400 mile round trip I am doing), brakes to change over the weekend and then it is off. See you there!

That looks OK - hopefully not as hot as last year - as long as they are only showers we should be fine.

Last year was far too hot for me

Weather looks good this year, as do the Diesel Audi's

Oh and don't forget to be at Arnage for the annual piston heads gathering.... Would be nice to see some pictures of Coupe's mixing with all those exotic machines

Gone Audi mad!
