there sounds like a few of us have the same problem, lets hope this solve it so we can enjoy the coupe properly, also i think we should all buy shares in 45degree hoses

Is the wiring loom for the MAF long enough to locate it that far away, everytime i've played with the cable its seemed really short. maybe its just me! i'll take a look at my cable routing.

Well the original position of the MAF is around the same place, so should be ok?

NB: I don't seem to have a problem.
Torgue Italia SIP (onto GT28RSR with hump hose) K&N filter (not overoiled) Cleaned MAF most of the time Forge DV006 recirc Crank breather still in place Undertray on (SIP mounted highish)

I think that the problem with the sip might be backflow from the dump valve and/or the turbo. Potentially also it is that combined with the mist from the oil recirc flying over the MAF. If the pipe into the SIP for the dump valve was pointing at a 60 degree angle towards the compressor wheel it might not happen. That is just a hypothesis though Also if the dump valve outlet was nearer the compressor wheel and so was the oil recirc.

Yeah I guess the dump valve could do it, I did try swapping the springs in mine to see if it reduced the effect, with the green (the lightest one they do) spring fitted it did reduce the jerking on light throttle but I could hear it leaking above 1 bar boost so I had to swap back. I ran the monster dump valve for a while but it seriously needs a lighter spring in it, it sounded like a rally car with the turbo fluttering away on every gear change because the dump valve didn't operate unless you were pushing it quite hard. Its still connected in though cos I love the look of it Lets see if these bent pipes cure it for the other guys, at least the bend moves the MAF out of the way of the dump vale re-circ too.

Ive got my bend hose just waiting for my apexi also got a second hand afm and some cleaner from maplin. if the air is bouncing back when lifting of throttle it will be doing this the same time as the forge recir dumps air back in to the intake which will mean the back wash air is also taking the dumped air back over the maf which is alot of air going in the wrong direction.

I have just fitted mines. Has made a difference. No stall issue it would appear. Also it appears on gear change the maf is adjusting better. Only thing i've noticed is there is still quite a sweep of afr while it tries to provide the correct fueling on part throttle. Is there anyway to improve this?

part throttle will cause a sweep as the lambda is still working, full throttle is when it is not used

part throttle will cause a sweep as the lambda is still working, full throttle is when it is not used Cool. And my sweep is more pronounced for 2 reasons. 1. the lambda is further away than stnd. 2. the lambda sensor wires look at bit dodgy. So all in all im happy!! Ross p.s. when im on part boost it seems like the car is behaving itself aswell. I will test further.

the proper lambda or the wideband lambda wires look dodgy? and is your proper lambda new or quite tired? V.

The "proper" lambda. Its a newish lambda. Only replaced about 4-5k ago. Still idles ok right enough.

i fittted mine today and noticed that the revs dont drop now and the throttle feels smoother and not jumpy, but still getting judder/stutter on half throttle in high gears, but still got to change thermo and ecu temp sensor as yet.H2ypr have you a picture of how your 45 degree pipe sits and the filter.

More feedback:
It is smoother and seems to help the maf work better, but i reckon my lambda sensor is still causing problems. All in all worthwhile.

p.s. i'll get pics up laters.

Driven the car some more today and what a difference, i can drive the car up to a set of light with out it nearly stalling and the throttle is much smoother, it used to kangaroo abit on and off throttle, what a difference a bit of 45 degree hose makes, also cleaning the afm with contact cleaner from maplin and fitting my new apexi filter, which is alot smaller than my K&N but seems to suck well.
