I think it suits the car and looks good, but there seems to be a lot of spoiler hating on here

If you think it should go, is that an automatic purist response because you think it looks "chav", or do you genuinely think the car would look more attractive without it?

Bin it. The backend is one of the main signatures of the coop.

Maybe someone could put in a vote graphic here. I'd do it, if I knew how to.

Hmm, better than most, but it just doesn't sit right.

None of the spoilers I've seen seem to look "right", but this is probably one of the better ones.

If it were my car, I'd probably leave it. It's got a lovely paint job. Holes in the boot and marks where the supports were would look a damn sight worse.

Personally, I wouldn't have it on the car. But by remvoving it, it won't just be a case of unbolting or unsticking the spoiler, it'll need some bodywork work afterwards to repair any scratches, marks or holes left by the original fittment of the spoiler.

I wouldn't worry what other people think about it. It your car, and if you think it looks good with the spoiler, enjoy it and leave it alone.

After all, I fitted an aero style filler cap, in replacement of the standard flip up cap. Not to everyones taste, but I it, and that's all that matters.

I wouldnt remove it from that boot lid, I would just buy another boot lid and swap them over, maybe I'll do that anyway and have a hot swappable spoiler

Now. That sounds like a good idea! Then if you're having a "spoilery" day you can simply bolt on your spoilered lid, if on the other hand you're having a "less is more" day, on pops the plain lid.

You could even get a boot lid with a massive whale fin type spoiler attached. For those days where you might wake up with 'chav/bling taste'.

Hmmm sounds a bit less efficient that the Porsche one that pops up automatically

As for your spoiler i'd leave it. It's one of the best ones I've seen and IMO really suits the car. You have a very nice Coop there BTW

I've seen the spoiler on other Coupes and wasn't too keen and didn't think I'd ever put one on mine.

Then Stradoz decided to sell his, attatched to a Sprinty boot lid, so I thought I'd try it

It should be here tomorrow and provided I get chance to fit it over the weekend, I'll be in the same dilema as you Matt - stay or go

At least I'll have my normal boot lid here to swap back to, if I don't like it, so I can have spoiler/chav days too

I think it should go. But it doesnt look horrible so if you like it you should keep it. Dont let us change your mind.

I just commented to Theresa that the one she just bought was fitted lower that MattWs but it sounds like hers will be correct.

you mean the way colour goes a bit weird behind the back wheel?

that's either a consequence of the lighting / camera, or a bad side effect that I didnt notice when I boosted the darker shades in photoshop

or do you mean the exhaust shaped cutout at the near side where the previous owner was planning to put a twin exhaust but thankfully changed his mind before doing so

It does not look too bad and from my knowledge, it should do some aerodynamic favours too.

Well, I'm definitely keeping the wheels, I've never been too keen on 4 spoke wheels and I think 16" is a bit too small for the coupe

You have the best colour coupe full stop, just get rid of the spoiler fiat didn't think it needed one why should it have one.

Each to their own I say, why side skirts, why different front & rear bumpers, we are all different & have different taste, so be happy with what you have, lol, as long as you are happy with it its ok

We've been round this loop many many times and I doubt very much that this will be the last time.

My 2p-worth: If you want to hack the appearance about, why buy something this distinctive and different in the first place? Much easier to buy a reppy chavmobile and turn it into some laughable Transformers-refugee. Would you bolt a spoiler on the back of, say, an Aston? A Mazzer? A Subaru SVX? Etc etc? Maybe more expensive cars, but you catch my drift?

And never forget that they're called "SPOILers" for a reason.....

I don't think it's that bad, but I really haven't yet seen any spoiler that looks better than none at all. The coupe looks great as the lines just stop suddenly at the back like a short, sharp shock. I really don't think it can be improved upon. In my humble opinion!
