I had to go into my local Fiat garage for some bits the other week and thought I'd get some Selenia 20k oil for top up purposes whilst I was there.

The guy came back with Tutela Jarama 10w40 oil and said that it was exactly the same oil as the Selenia stuff, made by the same people (silversomething??) but just renamed. He didn't have any 1l top up bottles so offered me 5l for a tenner. I told him that I'd think about it.

Should I have bitten his hand off or was he full doggy doodoo?

If the Jarama stuff is cheaper its probably for a reason. I am pretty sure it is just a good quality mineral oil, as opposed to 20K which is synthetic based.

Thats what the guys over at alfaowner reckon anyway.

I dont know if it the same make a selenia, however at that price is will be pretty basic semi synthetic (1005 mineral base).

In a car like this I not use anything less then a decent quality synthetic.

Cheers

Guy.

I've taken to using castrol edge 0W40 in Coupe, she seems to like it, however it does leak out everywhere, but I get that will any oil.

partly because I have a cracked rocker cover, partly because she's made by fiat.
