Hello! I´ve got the Gtec chip in my car

And i have plans to buy the gtec 2,

But what is the difference between the chips? do i gain something, where can i buy it?

You can by it from GrahamL. I'm sure he will register here soon. He also sells on E-Bay, but not sure of his name there.

Gtech1 is better for standard ish cars. Gtech2 will perfrom better in more modified cars in the 270= BHP bracket.

That is only a very vague analysis, i'm sure the more technical types can give you a better description of the differences

GTEC2 also means you have to run the car on super unleaded / optimax all the time, due to the ignition advance that is on the chip

Also you need an uprated FMIC for better cooling due to the increased overboost.

The big difference is the GTECII runs more ignition advance than the other chips thats why you need to use a 97/98 ron fuel to prevent pinking.
There is no need for a front mount intercooler because it runs the same boost as the GTECI chip.

You will notice better performance off boost and a better mid range punch.

Its probably more suited to a tuned car but so long as you use the correct fuel you should be fine.
