Sorry if this is in the wrong place........

I bought a Cat C write off from CarlT (4 months ago)

Car is complete and is now MOT'd and Insured.

However as I do not have log book it is currently not taxed.

It has a VIC check booked for Sat AM

How will I be able to Tax this the same day.

I have not received any paperwoprk from CarlT and after speaking to him today i was advised that it is not needed.

He said that once I have the VIC certificate/Mot/Insurance I can Tax it the same day and apply for the new log book,

Is this correct ?

Any advice appreciated.

Think you'll need to browse round the official websites and then confirm with a phone call to your nearest DVLA office that potentially could deal with your paperwork on Monday ?

eg
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Buy...icle/DG_4022107

eg seems they should issue a V5C once you've done your V62 application

and http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_069680
has a section about "Tax without a Registration Certificate or New Keeper Supplement"
so "timely" would seem to hinge on:
- "If you’re not shown as the registered keeper on DVLA records you cannot tax the vehicle."
- if the VIC test location (ie VOSA test station" is near to a "DVLA local office" that would be open at the time you get it which I think is unlikely as most "M-F 9-5" type places ?
