Insurance, tyres, clutch, manifold, turbo, oil cooler, wishbones will all wear more and cost more potentially. Buy one that has had all of the big jobs done by a specialist. Depending on your budget for the car, reckon on £500 minimum a year for maintenance alone And don't think about modding (or buy one that has been done properly)

my original one was standard first year i had service £150 clutch £450ish get one thats had this done slave cylinder £60 rear wheel bearing £50
so other than the clutch issue it cost me £260
Other than that id add £250 for brakes and tyres
So as above £500 a year at least without any big jobs id say.

Im with adrian flux and i called for a quote in advance, thinking of buying once my mot is up around may 2009 and another years no claims disc, the monthly rate hasnt gone up that much considering its a 20vt Can the 20v be run on unleaded or does it have to be super unleaded every time i fill up, or does it just perform optimally on su? Does it really use 1lt of oil a month as that seems really high? my 20vna doesnt seem to use hardly any oil at all?

Doesn't need super unless it has been tuned and mapped to higher octane fuel. Some standard 20vt owners use super, but I use a mix and never tell the difference, many will just use 95RON.
Its not really 1l a month, more like 1l every 1000 miles, which Fiat say is the maximum normal consumption. My 20vt uses more than my 20v did, but it does vary by car. Asking the owner how much it uses per month is usually a good question to gauge how well they know their car.
Did you see Adam's thread in general chat about his first year with a 20vt? It had his costs on it, and I also added mine, though to be honest, it doesn't really cost me *that* much more than my 20v did.

Good to hear Regarding the warming up and cooling down of the turbo, do you have to leave it running at standstill for 5 mins or does it mean, keep the revs low and change up early when engine is cold? At the end of a run do u have to let it idle for a bit before switching off, or drive it as stress-free as poss high gears etc until switch off? Cheers, tommycoupe
