With the day off yesterday I decided to set up my Pioneer competition head unit. I plugged the small mic in to the HU and located it on the driver’s seat head rest...started the system off to test the cars acoustics and set the stereo up, all done automatically. The HU gives you a ten second count down to get out the car and then it runs through a series of different tests.
So I jump out the car and quickly close the door, eagerly waiting for the test to complete which is roughly 6 minutes.

First test showed an error message stating no signal front left speaker! So I go about removing the speaker only to find the connections have fallen off?! So connect back up and re-fit the speaker. By now it’s getting really hot in the car so I open the windows…and this is when I realise it’s the bloody window ripping the connection from the speaker! I have had these speakers fitted for over a year now all that time and I never knew!
So warning to any other home install Muppets…when fitting new cable for the Front speakers follow the existing speaker cable route.
